Tirzepatide  and Semaglutide are both GLP-1 inhibitors which means that they mimic a hormone that reduces appetite.  Tirzepatide imitates a second hormone, called GIP, which along with reducing appetite, may also improve how the body breaks down sugar and fat—leading to even greater weight loss!

You will be prescribed one injection of Tirzepatide per week. You can receive this in our clinic or we can ship the medication directly to you for self-injection.

Adults over 18 who are looking to lose weight! Our physician is a board-certified obesity specialist and will prescribe tirzepatide for adults with a BMI of 27 or above.

Tirzepatide can be highly effective in helping obese and overweight patients lose weight. It is safe for individuals with hypertension, type-2 diabetes, and dyslipidemia.

You CAN NOT take Tirzepatide if you have any of the following conditions:

• personal or family history of Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma (MTC)
• personal or family history of Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia, type 2 (MEN 2)
• prior allergic reaction to tirzepatide or any of its ingredients*
• diabetic retinopathy (diabetic eye disease)
• pregnant or trying to get pregnant
• breast-feeding (tirzepatide is present in breast milk)
• depression with a history of suicidal thoughts
• history of pancreatitis
• kidney disease/kidney insufficiency
• stomach problems
• diabetes - you must obtain approval for use from an endocrinology or primary care physician

Every patient is different - some patients can lose up to 20lbs their first month on tirzepatide - while others can lose 1 - 4lbs. There are many variables to consider when setting your expectations for weight loss on tirzepatide - how old are you? Do you have underlying health conditions like hypothyroid or autoimmune disorders? Many factors contribute to the speed of weight loss and the amount of weight loss you will experience.

Since tirzepatide mimics the 2 hormones - GLP-1 and GIP - we have observed more weight loss for our patients on tirzepatide compared to semaglutide. However - at the lowest dose = 2.5mg Tirzepatide - we generally see less weight loss compared to the lowest dose of semaglutide. At the therapeutic dose = 15mg we have observed more weight loss when compared to semaglutide at the therapeutic dose = 2.4mg. This is based on our patient observations and is considered anecdotal.  Tirzepatide, like semaglutide, is most effective for weight loss when combined with healthy diet and exercise.

Some patients report these side effects while taking Tirzepatide - however, we have noticed much fewer side effects associated with Tirzepatide treatment compared to Semaglutide treatment. If you are prone to nausea or other gastrointestinal issues you can ask our physician about trying Tirzepatide instead of Semaglutide.

• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Diarrhea
• other GI related issues

Most of these are transient and go away over the first several weeks. Generally we have observed many fewer side effects related to Tirzepatide, compared to Semaglutide. So it's a great choice if you have tried semaglutide and had side effects. We can also recommend switching to Tirzepatide from Semaglutide if you hit a weight loss plateau.

Is your compounded tirzepatide the same as the brand name medications?

There are 2 brand name medications that contain tirzepatide that are indicated for type-2 diabetes and for weight loss. Both of these brand name medications contain tirzepatide as their active ingredient. Our compounded medications are not manufactured by Eli Lilly and are not sold under any brand name. Our compound contains Tirzepatide Glycogen like Peptide-1 (GLP-1) and Glucose-dependent insulinotropic peptide (GIP) as its only active ingredients.

Patients start at the lowest dose and must remain at each dosage for at least 4 weeks.

We inject Tirzepatide subcutaneous in the abdomen (avoiding the belly button area), thigh, or upper arm.

Let’s say you take Tirzepatide every Friday and you forget to take it this Friday. You can take it Saturday or Sunday and go back to every Friday the following week. If more than 4 days have passed, skip the missed dose and administer the next dose on your regularly scheduled day.

If you take Tirzepatide  every Saturday and you are going on a short weekend vacation, you can take it a day earlier and then go back to every Saturday the following week.

Yes, different patients will respond differently with efficacy and side effects. We usually recommend trying Tirzepatide even if Semaglutide does not work.

Our patients have observed the following positive side effects - in addition to weight loss!

• Weight-loss:
• Reduction in triglycerides and cholesterol
• Reduction in blood pressure
• Improvement in heart health

Inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis). Stop using Tirzepatide and call your healthcare provider right away if you have severe pain in your stomach area (abdomen) that will not go away, with or without vomiting.

Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Our doctor requires that you stop other medications that can lower your blood sugar such as metformin.

Serious allergic reactions. Stop using Tirzepatide and get medical help right away if you have any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including swelling of your face, lips, tongue or throat, problems breathing or swallowing, severe rash or itching, fainting or feeling dizzy, and very rapid heartbeat.

Kidney problems (kidney failure). In people who have kidney problems, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting may cause dehydration which may cause kidney problems to get worse. It is important for you to drink fluids to help reduce your chance of dehydration.

Severe stomach problems. Stomach problems, sometimes severe, have been reported in people who use Tirzepatide. Tell your healthcare provider if you have stomach problems that are severe or will not go away.

Changes in vision. Tell your healthcare provider if you have changes in vision during treatment with Tirzepatide

Gallbladder problems. Gallbladder problems have happened in some people who use Tirzepatide Tell your healthcare provider right away if you get symptoms of gallbladder problems, which may include pain in your upper stomach (abdomen), fever, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), and clay-colored stools.

If you already have a prescription for semaglutide through our physician you can switch to Tirzepatide with doctor approval. Please advise the staff if you want to make a medication change and we can communicate with the doctor for his approval. Since Semaglutide and Tirzepatide have similar contraindications and indications switching is generally approved.
